Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Cormier
It is with sadness that the family of Anthony (Tony) Paul Cormier announce his unexpected passing on March 11, 2021 at the age of 59. Born on November 8, 1961 in St. Jerome, Quebec, Tony was the son of the late Jean Francois Cormier (Frank) and Pauline Cormier.
Tony is survived by his son, Jacob (Danica); daughter, Jessica; their mother, Cathy; sister, Francine (Thom) Cormier, niece, Nicole, and nephew, Alex.
Tony grew up in Moncton, and spent his youth hanging out with friends and playing outdoors. Tony excelled at every sport he participated in, especially diving, badminton, and volleyball and competed provincially. He graduated from École Mathieu-Martin, studied at NBCC and went on to work in the food industry before beginning a career in video-conferencing/computer technology.
Tony had three great passions in life – playing guitar, cooking, and golfing, and his greatest source of happiness and pride was his family. Tony was a generous, loving friend, and his happiest times were spent with a guitar in his hand and his family and friends by his side.
Due to COVID-19, there will be no formal viewing or public funeral service. A private family service will take place at a later date. The family has requested donations in Tony’s name may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
