Obituary of Violet May Melvin

Violet M. Melvin of Moncton, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the age of 90. Born in Moncton a daughter of the late Charles and Greta (Smith) Bovard. A lady with the biggest heart, always putting others first, selfless, requiring little, Hardworking, creative, a love for her family and love for her Savior and Lord. Survived by husband and best friend of 72 years, John M. Melvin; daughters, Susan Alward (Paul) of Second North River, Beverly Haines (Frank) of Lower Coverdale, Karen Sanford (Andy) of Second North River, Holly Carson (Greg) of Elgin and Cindy Alcorn (Grant) of Saint John; son, Merle Melvin (Michelle) of Riverview; sister, Evelyn Mellish of Moncton, half sister Donna Mossman (Doug) of ON; brother, Gerald Bovard (Freda) of ON, three half brothers, Terry Leger, Tim Leger (Coleen) both of Moncton and Clifford Leger of ON; 13 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren, also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Violet was predeceased by a brother, Billy Bovard; brother-in-law, Richard Mellish; stepfather, Arthur Leger; stepmother, Alice Bovard. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 7-9pm. The Funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral Home on Friday, December 02, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mitch Whittington officiating. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial. Donations in Violet's memory may be made to Parkside Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
