Obituary of Florence McLaren
McLaren, Florence (Flo) August 12, 1932 – August 5, 2013 Passed away on August 5, 2013 at the Stellas Maris Hospital, Saint Anne De Kent, New Brunswick. She is survived by her son Danny Brian McLaren of Lethbridge, Alberta, Sister Lillian of Alberta and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her Good and Faithful friend Danny Ryan (Lynn), and Betty and family. She was predeceased by her son Leslie in 1971 and her parents Annie (Farrow) and Roy Reid and sister Joan. Flo worked clerical office positions in Moncton as well as in Ontario, British Columbia and Dartmouth. Flo loved Blue Grass and Country Music and also enjoyed crossword puzzles reading, game shows, nascar, and hockey games. She enjoyed hanging out with friends at Down Home Lounge in Bass River. Flo had a special love for animals and took in all the strays, and drop offs in her area. Cats and dogs galore! A special Country Music night in Flo’s memory will be held at Danny’s Down Home Lounge in Bass River. A private graveside and Committal Service will take place at the Garden of Christus at Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. A very special Thank you to Dr. Melanie Allain for her tender bed side manner and Special care of Flo. The nurses at the hospital are awesome and most likely all had a chance to work with Flo as she was there since February 2013 and soon got to realize her quick wit and charm very quickly. They were all very loving and very good to her. Thank you so much. The physio Therapy Department did a lot of work with Flo and are really amazing at what they do. Thank you. Thank you to her long time family doctor Dr. Micheal Peters, Betsy and Susan for all their help and care over the years. Thank Pastor Jeff Irving, for his kindness and to support and for performing the Service. Flo’s family would like to Thank Danny Ryan and Lynn who stayed with Flo right to the end. Danny’s dedication and loyality to Flo over the years made them special Family to each other.
