Obituary of Francis "Ian" Frenette

Ian Frenette, 64 years, of Moncton, NB, formerly of Montague, PE passed away as result of a motor vehicle - Cycling accident on Friday, August 16, 2013. Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Leo and Stella (Gallant) Frenette. Ian retired from PEI's Eastern School District in 2005 after 37 years of teaching. Ian was a faithful member of St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Moncton and a former Catechism and Confirmation teacher in Montague, PE. He is survived by his wife Florence Reeves of Montague, PE; daughters Elizabeth Frenette of Winnipeg, MB, Danielle Frenette of Kugluktuk, NU, and Priscilla Frenette (Daniel Morash) of Middle Sackville, NS; sisters Patricia Denning of Long Island, NY, Darlene (Denis) Herrington of New York, NY, Sonia (Harry) McClenaghan of Quispamsis, NB, Ina Frenette of Caraquet, NB, and Francetta (Colin) Calnan of Dartmouth, NS; brothers Roland (Evelyn) Frenette of Quispamsis, NB, and Bernard Frenette of Bathurst, NB; sisters in law Marie Frenette and Valerie Frenette both of Bathurst, NB; brother in law Raoul Guignard of Bathurst, NB; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings Leo Frenette and Kevin Frenette, and Melva Guignard. Ian was a proud graduate of UNB (Class of 1973). He was a devoted family man and educator. He had a lifelong love of physical activity and passed away while doing something that he loved. He will be remembered most for his sense of humour and his unwavering faith. Visitation will be held for family and close friends at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. on Tuesday August 20, 2013 from 11:00am until 12:45pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 1:00pm with Father Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will be in St. Therese Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bathurst, NB. Donations in Ian's memory made to the St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church Building fund or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
