Obituary of Alice Jardine Long

Alice J. Long, of Sunset Village, Moncton, NB and formerly of Cameron St., passed away at Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Born in Bass River, Kent Co. NB and at a early age moved to Fredericton where she grew up; she was the daughter of the late David and Alice (McEachern) Targett. Alice for many years was the owner operator of Alice's Beauty Parlour on Curry St. in Sunny Brae. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Moncton and was a former member and a longtime of the A.C.W and the St. George's Willing Workers, she was a member of the Lions Senior Citizens. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Donna Perry (Carlos) of Kentville, NS; granddaughter Alice-Jean Squires (Tim) of Barrie, ON; great grandchildren Will and Charlotte Squires; grandsons Arron Perry of Edmonton, Ab. and Hazen "Bill" Perry (Jill) of Halifax, NS; twin great granddaughters Lauren and Ella Perry; her sister-in-law Myra Long of Sussex, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. Alice was the last surviving member of her family of fourteen. Besides her parents, she predeceased by her husband Hazen H. Long in 1977. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, corner of Church and Queen Streets on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm with The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Family flowers only, donations in Alice's memory made to the St. George's Anglican Church Memorial Fund, The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor's would be appreciated by her family.
