Obituary of Felicity S. Austen
Felicity Sterling Austen, of Riverview, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the age of 84. Born in Botwood, NL., Felicity was the daughter of William and Mary (Aitken) Heath.
She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church in Moncton and was a member of the Willing Workers of St. Georges. Felicity operated the Hickory Farm Kiosk at Champlain Mall for many years and was also the first Female Radio Operator and Announcer for CBC in Canada. She was very active within her community, volunteering as part of the Ladies Auxiliary for The Moncton Hospital , the YWCA Quilt Fair and with the MS Society.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Carol Austen of Riverview, Tony Austen (Tish) of Mount Albert, ON. and Michael Austen (Joanne) Dartmouth, NS; her adopted daughter Lorraine Clark of Ottawa; her five grandchildren Christopher, Devon (Kimberley), Tara (Mark), Matthew and Megan and two great-grandchildren Carson and Levy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John "Jack" Austen
Visitation will be at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Friday, February 14, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm.
The funeral service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Corner of Church and Queen Streets, Moncton on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 4:00 pm with The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk officiating.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton in the spring.
Donations in Felicity's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital "Geriatric Dept." or to the Alzheimer's Society of Southeast NB would be appreciated by her family.
