Obituary of Grace E. Sherwood
Grace Elizabeth Sherwood, formerly of Arlington Drive, Moncton, passed away at McNairn Manor in Riverview, on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the age of 95 years. With family by her side, she was peacefully carried by the angels to her reward in Heaven. Born in Harrisville, NB she was the daughter of the late Fred Benjamin and Annie Barbara (Matthews) Lutes.Always will be remembered by her loving daughters Barbara Lynn (Ron Lusk) and Carol Ann Branscombe both of Moncton; son Fred James Sherwood (Grace) of Alberta; grandchildren Matthew Lusk (Rayna), James Lusk (Josée), Martha Robertson (Jay), Jennifer Yadlowsky (Owen), Benjamin Sherwood (Katie), Jeremy Sherwood and Andrew Sherwood; great grandchildren Sheridan Lusk, Joanna Yadlowsky, and Isaac Yadlowsky; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband George James Sherwood (1990) and son Kenneth Allan Sherwood (1998); sisters Dorothy Lockhart, her twin Margaret Weldon; brothers Harvey Lutes and Roy Lutes. Grace retired after many years` service at La Bonne Nouvelle Christian Book Store in Moncton. She was an active member of Highfield Baptist Church, enjoying 35 years as a sunday school teacher, a member of the Womens Missionary and the Young at Heart Group within the church.
She enjoyed beginning her day with a hot cup of tea and a muffin followed by reading the newspaper by the warmth of the fire. She also enjoyed her daily game shows, reading , and doing word searches. Above all she loved spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.
The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Daniel Cormier officiating. There will be a reception held at the funeral home after the service.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in the spring.
