Obituary of Abner Benjamin Prosser

Abner B. Prosser, 97, of McNair Manor Moncton, and formerly of Riverview; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. He was born in Parkindale, NB on December 30, 1914 and was the son of the late Avery and Elizabeth (Payne) Prosser. Abner for many years worked in farming and as a lumberman in Parkindale, and later worked at Fawcett’s Lumber Mill in Petitcodiac. He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church and a member of the Golden Aires. A quiet, gentle and respectful man he will be sadly missed by his nieces Jean Duke (Jack) of Moncton, Doris Brown of Saint John, Eleanor Makepeace of ON., Alice Roberts and Erma Smith both of Ma. USA; one nephew Earl Stone of Ma. USA; also by his several great nieces and great nephews. Abner is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents he was predeceased by infant sisters Mary and Bertha and by sisters Halva Stone, Winnifred Northrup, Iva Brown, Gracie Prosser and Theresa Prosser. Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 1:00pm until the time of the service. The Funeral Service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Jonathan Gorham officiating. Interment Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, NB. Donations in Abner’s memory made to the Riverview Baptist Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated by the family.
