Obituary of Frederick "Freddie" Carl Whitten

Frederick Carl "Freddie" Whitten, 61 of Riverview, NB passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 03, 2015. Born in Petty Harbour, NL. he was the son of the late Ada Whitten. Freddie was employed with Sobeys, Regis St., Dieppe. Survived by his best friend and wife Cheryl (Murphy); one daughter Ada Whitten of Moncton, NB.; one son Jamie Whitten (Jennifer) of Goulds, NL; their mother Bev Whitten of Goulds, NL.;one step daughter Melissa Martin (Derek) of Dieppe, NB.; one step son Todd Westcott (Shandy) of Edmonton, AB.; four grandchildren that he adored as they adored him, Emma Martin, Alex, Jayden and Tristen and their mother Nadine Richard. Freddie was an only child but was raised with many cousins that were like brothers and sisters, especially Dorcas Layden (Johnny) of Petty Harbour, NL. and Bonnie Wells (Rick) of St. John's, NL. He will be missed by his friends, co-workers and customers at Sobeys, Regis St. Dieppe,NB. Besides his Mother Ada Whitten, he was predeceased by his grandparents Fred and Mabel Whitten. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm & 7:00pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will also be held from Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. St. John's NL. on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm Funeral Service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Petty Harbour, NL on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 2 pm. Interment will be at St Georges Anglican Cemetery, Petty Harbour, NL. Donations in Freddie's memory made to the St George's Anglican Church, Petty Harbour, or to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
