Obituary of Michael Taylor
With deepest sadness, the family of Michael Taylor of Lower Coverdale announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Moncton Hospital, with his wife Jane by his side, following a brief period of declining health. Born in Vanderhoof, BC on March 10, 1950 and raised in Moncton, Michael was the son of Janet Alexander Dunphy and the late KL (Kenneth Lawrence) Dunphy. A voracious reader, it was not unusual for Michael to be reading as many as five books at a time and little but a Sunday NASCAR race could distract him from them. His retirement in 2014 from Ivan’s Audio Visual, where he served as a CCTV specialist, gave him more time to indulge those pleasures and to enjoy the company of family and friends and the peace and quiet of his own backyard. Michael will be forever loved by his spouse of 28 years and sweetheart since seventh grade, Jane Chartley; son Shawn (Kristin Steeves) of Dartmouth and daughter Leigh Ann Scott Owen (Darin Ellis) of Abbotford, BC; grandchildren Luke and Jack Taylor of Dartmouth and Graham Scott and Devin, Brett and Bayleigh Owen and well as a tiny great grandson, Lukah Owen, all of Abbotsford. Michael will also be deeply missed by sisters Barbara McIntyre (David) and Ellen Melanson (Dave) of Moncton and Beth Votour (Rick) of Fredericton, aunts Margaret Bowness, Joan Anderson and Beryl Costigan and a number of loving nieces, nephews and cousins, including special cousin and friend Doug (Tanya) Anderson of Fredericton. The lives of Michael’s mother-in-law Marian Chartley, his best friend since boyhood, David Tuck and his feline friends Winnie and Buster are also forever changed by his loss. Michael was predeceased by his biological father, the late Harry Stuart Taylor of Nanaimo, BC. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Riverview Funeral Home on Pine Glen Road. In recognition of Michael’s love of animals and the printed word, donations to CA-R-MA cat rescue or the elementary or adult literacy organization of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544 Online condolences can be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.ca
