Obituary of Frances Johnston
Frances Johnston (nee Wrynn) of Moncton passed away on September 14, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Born in Moncton on August 13, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Zita (Moore) Wrynn. She was a devoted wife to Frank, her husband of fifty-five years, who predeceased her in 2009. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Elinor Richardson (Dale) and her sons Father Angus Johnston, Cyril Johnston (Andrea) and Neil Johnston, her beloved grandchildren, Katie, Andrew, Daniel and Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers Cyril and Frederick and by her sisters Clara and Bernadette.
In 1946 Frances graduated from the Maritime College of Pharmacy in Halifax and began a long, joyful career in pharmacy. She began working for Corner Drug while in High School, continuing to work there after completing her studies and later worked at the Woolco Pharmacy, maintaining her license and working for 49 years.
She was a very active member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church participating in all aspects of parish life. She was a catechist for many years, sang in the choir and led exercise classes until her illness became too advanced for her to continue.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of ProTem Health Services and also to Eva Calunod for the care given to Frances over the years.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home on Sunday September 17, 2017 from 2pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9pm with Parish Prayers at 8:30pm. The funeral mass will be held at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 52 Falkland St. Moncton on Monday September 18, 2017 at 11:00 am.
In Frances’ memory, donations made to The Alzheimer Society of NB would be appreciated by the family.
