Obituary of Francis "Frank" Vincent Maddox

Francis (Frank) Vincent Maddox, of Riverview (formerly Fredericton), NB, passed peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Wicklow, Carleton County, NB on November 20, 1928, he was the youngest son of the late Bartholomew and Gertrude (Grant) Maddox of Wicklow NB. Frank attended the University of New Brunswick and graduated from Civil Engineering. He began a decades-long career in the departments of Public Works and Transportation for the Province of New Brunswick where he played a significant role in the design and construction of many of the roads in New Brunswick. In 1953 he married Patricia Cantin and lived for several years in Perth/Andover NB. In 1957 they moved to Fredericton NB. He is survived by two daughters, Dianne Frances Robson (Gordon) of Calgary, AB and Laura Patricia Harper (Dr. Byrne Harper) of Moncton NB, granddaughter Lauren Harper, grandson Kale Harper, sister Joan Ouelette (Reneau). In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Cantin) in 2006; sisters, Mary and Gertrude; brothers, Paul and George. Frank enjoyed new cars, gardening and his pet dogs Jiggs and Tiger. Frank will be cremated and his remains will be interred in Fredericton beside Patricia in adjoining plots this summer.
