Obituary of Claude D. Burry

Claude D. Burry , 56, of Riverview, with his loving family at his side passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, Tuesday, November 28th, 2006. Born in St. John’s Newfoundland, Claude was the son of Margaret and the late Wilber Burry. Claude is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Linda, son Jason (Kim) of Saint John, daughter Jennifer Blais (Normand) of Riverview, one special grandchild, Noah, a brother, Edmund (Elizabeth) of St. John’s and a sister Corinne King (Jim) of Ottawa. Claude will also be sadly missed by a number of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Family was of utmost importance to Claude and nothing gave him more pleasure than time spent at home with his immediate family or visiting with nieces and nephews. He was a very creative wood worker and enjoyed many hours creating everything from water craft to furniture. Claude was also very devoted to the care and training of their beloved dogs through which he and Linda enjoyed precious moments with many wonderful friends. In his career, Claude devoted more than 30 years as an engineer with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Small Craft Harbours Branch where he earned the love, respect and admiration of many colleagues and friends across the country. Claude was considered a true leader and a mentor and will be missed by those who had the privilege and pleasure of working with him. Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview, New Brunswick on Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gestures of condolence be made in the form of donations to the Dr. Leon Richard Oncology Centre or the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Georges L.
