Obituary of Claude Earl Atkinson

Claude Atkinson, age 71, of Calhoun, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, March 14, 2009. Born in Calhoun, NB on July 22, 1937, he was the son of the late Roy and Flora (Thomson) Atkinson. He attended Calhoun Baptist Church, Calhoun, NB. Claude retired from the Canadian National Railways in 1993 after 40 years service. He was a member of the CN Pensioners Association. He is survived by his wife Whilamina "Berniece" (Wilson) Atkinson; sons Robert (Ellen) of Calhoun, David of Calhoun, Barry (Holly) of Sanatorium Road, and Dennis (Lynn) of Ottawa, ON; sister Debra McCully of Petitcodiac; brothers Ralph (Ruby), Wayne, and Michael (Hilda) all of Calhoun; five grandchildren Brandon, Jeremy, Brian, Justin and Tyler; also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two sons Brian and an infant son; sisters Shirley Douthwright, and Thelma Stewart; brother Charlie. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Thursday, March 19, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 20, 2009 at 2pm with Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
