Obituary of Claretta Evelyn Dickson

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Clare Dickson announces her passing on March 19, 2009. Clare was the daughter of the late Ira Alphonso Stymest and Bertha Alice Dykeman of Saint John, NB., formerly called Fairville. She was the wife of the late Murray Stewart Dickson for sixty-four years. Her "career" as a wife, mother and homemaker was greatly appreciated by her family. Her ability to make a warm and inviting home in the many places in the U.S. that Dad's career took us as a family, was a talent that didn't go unnoticed. She made many friends in many places and played her part in the communities that she lived. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten by her daughters Carla Sebelius (John) of Woodbridge, Va. and Terry Gentile (Terence) of Riverview, NB., daughter-in-law Marilyn Dickson of Yucaipa, Cal., her thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren to whom she was known as "Nana or Nina" and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Murray she was predeceased by sons Ronald William and Kenneth Merle and brothers William and Leslie. A celebration of Clare's Life will be held at Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm., with vistation at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John, NB in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Our deepest thanks goes out to the wonderful nurses and staff of 4600 unit and the Palliative Care Unit at Moncton City Hospital, Drs. Hiltz and Mansfield and the wonderful staff and friends at Royal Court, Parkland Estates in Riverview, where she resided for the past eight years. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, NB (506) 857-9544.
