Obituary of Charles Roderick "Rod" MacAleese

Charles Roderick "Rod" MacAleese, 79, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital in Moncton on Friday, August 21, 2009 Born in Moncton November 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Bernice (Mitton) MacAleese. Rod was a retired carpenter with NB Housing. He attended Humphrey Memorial United Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet G. (Green) MacAleese, four daughters, Gail, Roberta (Allan) and Lynn all of Lindsay On. and Trudy (Ivan) of Moncton; four sons, Terry (Lilly Ann) of Lindsay, ON; Brian (Ivena) of Moncton, Christopher (Carol) of Cornwall ON; and Mark of Moncton, seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two sisters, Willamina "Billy" and Cora both of Boston, Ma; two brothers, Stewart of Cornwall, ON; and Donald (Franny) of Moncton; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Jack. At Rod's request there is no visitation at the Funeral Home A Graveside and Committal Service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Moncton on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 1:30pm.with Rev. G. MacDonald officiating. Donations in Rod's memory made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetic Association would be appreciated by his family.
