Obituary of Charles Rietzel
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Charlie Rietzel, age 63, of Moncton on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Born in Moncton, NB, on August 14, 1947; Charlie was the son of the late Arnold Rietzel and late Marie (Jones) Rietzel.
Charlie worked as a landscaper most of his life. He was a great Clint Eastwood fan with a great sense of humour. He was a gentle and compassionate man who loved animals and was known for taking care of stray cats in the neighbourhood.
He lived his life in his own gentle way and as Charlie would say "See you later man".
Charlie will be sadly missed by his former wife Mary; his son Christopher and grandson Nicholas of Moncton; sisters Marilyn Carson (Allan) of Lower Coverdale, Sharon Lewis (Ross), Betty Cormier, Velma Breau, Dorothy Bennett of Moncton; brothers Jimmy Rietzel, Brian Rietzel (Jeannette), Michael Rietzel (Barbara), Ossie DeWolfe of Moncton and Donnie DeWolfe (Leola) of Lower Coverdale; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Charlie was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Rietzel Jr. and a sister Patsy LeBlanc.
Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St.Moncton, with visitation on Friday, April 22, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm
The funeral service will be held from Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, Moncton on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00am with Pastor Jeff Irving officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charles made to the Moncton SPCA or the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Interment will be at Wilmot Memorial Cemetery, Lower Coverdale, NB at a later date.
