Obituary of Clair S. Lewis

Clair S. Lewis, 66, of Moncton, NB; passed away with his family at his side at the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital, on Sunday, August 14, 2011. Born in Caledonia, NS; on September 28, 1944; he was the son of the late John and Verna Lewis and step-son to Dot Lewis. Clair was a retired Air Conditioning Technician with Classic Heating and Air Conditioning. He loved music and was a former band member and base guitar player. He was an avid Stock Car and Nascar fan, however his greatest love was his time spent at Treasure Island in Cocagne with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his wife G. Jeanne Dupuis, his step-mother Dot Lewis of Caledonia, NS; his daughter Amber Lewis (Casey Welbourn) of New Minas, NS; his son Stephen Lewis of Ontario; his step-children Chris (Jennifer) Dupuis of Halifax, Dan (Tara) Dupuis of Riverview and Kyla (Donnie) Dupuis of Halifax; grandchildren Makayla Lewis, Morgan and Teagan Welbourn; Cassidy Smith, Eleigha Smith, Ferryn Dupuis, Brianna Dupuis, Caitlyn Dupuis, Calvin, William and Bella Betts, Summer Jennings, Chelsey, Brianna and Donnie Cross; his brother Robert Lewis of Ontario; cousins, nieces and nephews; and by his loyal four legged companions Misha and GiGi. A Special thank you to Mark and Eve Arsenault and Sandy MacArthur. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loyal Golden Retriever Kristi. At Clair's request there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held on Treasure Island, Sunday September 4th at 4pm. This service will be a celebration of Clair's life done the way Clair would have wanted. All of Clair's friends and family are welcome and encouraged to come and spend time with all who loved Clair. After the brief service, everyone is welcome to stay on the island and visit with Jeanne and the family and at dusk we will enjoy a bonfire in honour of Clair. Directions: Take the Shediac/Miramichi turnoff exit 31B, stay on the 11 North, take exit 15 Cocagne, take 535 North to Cocagne, past Florina Beach sign. You will see the island on the right. Civic mailboxes and street sign Treasure Island. You will see a field at the waters edge as you drive in, where the service will be held.
