Obituary of C. Jean MacDiarmid

Jean MacDiarmid, 84, of Moncton, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Born in Moncton, NB., she was the daughter of the late Benson and Marcella MacDiarmid. Jean was a member of Mount Royal United Church and past leader of the Special Interest Group, U.C.W. She graduated from Moncton High School and attended Mount Allison University. Jean was a certified member of the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science. She was employed as a Medical Technologist in the Microbiology Dept, at the Moncton Hospital for 29 years. Her numerous interests included the Hospital Bowling League, the Bicentennial Skating Club, bridge club and St. Pat's Senior Swimming Group. She was a member of the Sir Charles G.D. Roberts I.O.D.E. Chapter for 25 years and belonged to the Moncton Probus Club. In retirement Jean enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world including rides on a camel and an elephant. Survived by her sister in law Marilyn MacDiarmid of Moncton; three nephews Robert (Ann) MacDiarmid, David MacDiarmid, Scott (Andrea) MacDiarmid; one niece Shawn (Andrew) Clark, two grand nieces and three grand nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Dr. C. Benson MacDiarmid. At Jean's request there will be no visitation at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held at Mount Royal United Church, Moncton, NB., on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ronald Maund officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery Donations in Jean's memory made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
