Obituary of Clarence Edmond Gauvin CD
Clarence E. Gauvin CD, 83, of Moncton, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, December 29, 2014. Born in St. Norbert, NB, he was the son of the late Anthony & Vitaline (Gallant) Gauvin. He attended St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church.
Clarence was employed for 25 years with the Canadian Armed Forces and a former employee with the Corps of Commissioners and Brinks Canada. He served in KOREA from 1951-52 with the 2nd Battalion Royal 22nd Regiment.
Clarence enjoyed fishing and was an avid hockey fan and season ticket holder Moncton Wildcats, he also was a former referee with Moncton Minor Hockey.
A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend he will deeply missed by his loving wife Alma M. Gauvin, daughter Francine Cohoon (Terry) of Riverview; son Michael Gauvin (Nicky) of Toronto; grandchildren Jessica Cohoon-LeBlanc (Jason) of Riverview, Mitchell and Alexander of Toronto; sister Gloria Cyr (Yves) of Ottawa, ON; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers Laurie, Armand and Arthur and by two sisters Gemma Bourque and Roseline Fraughton and by infants Abel and Renee Gauvin.
The Funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine's Church, Corner of Dominion St. and Mountain Rd. Moncton on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 am with Fr. Laurence Quin-Morris officiating.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe in the spring.
Donations in Clarence's memory made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
