Obituary of Helen Mabel Steeves

Helen M. Steeves, of Grass Home Riverview and formerly of Bromley Ave. Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Born in Petitcodiac, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ira B. and Mabel O. (Mitton) Wright. A former member of the Teaching Profession, after teaching several years, she attended Drake Secretarial School in Orange, NJ. She was later employed as Chief Billing Clerk at the Old Moncton Hospital. She was a member of First United Baptist Church, Moncton , the Zella Clark Missionary Group of the church. Helen was a honorary member of the Ladies Beaver Curling Club, the Centennial Lawn Bowling Club and a member of the Moncton Golf and Country Club. She also a volunteer with the Arthritic Clinic under Dr. Edgett. She is survived by her daughter Joan M. Cox of Halifax, NS, her son G. Robert 'Robb' Steeves of Moncton, four grandchildren Jonathan Cox (Lisa) of Halifax, Alison J. Cox (Reg) of Vancouver, Jason R. Steeves of Moncton and Tyler Steeves (Michelle) of Maxwell, ON. three great grandchildren, one sister Maxine Johnston of Seattle, Washington and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Graham S. Steeves, her daughter-in-law Charlotte Steeves, sisters, Jean, Kay, Dorothy and Frieda; brothers Bill, Gordon, Earl, Don, Emery and Jack. Resting at First United Baptist Church, Queen St. Moncton on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 from 11:00am till the time of the service. The Funeral Service will be held at First United Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Dr. Richard Jackson officiating. The family will be receiving relatives and friends immediately following the service in the reception hall of the church. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Helen's memory made to Memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Bros.
