Obituary of Joseph Beverly, Major MA Mugridge
Passed away in Montreal on December 2, 2006 after a battle with cancer. Born in MacDougall’s Settlement, NB, Joe left Moncton High School to join the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he served from 1952 to1972. He then pursued a teaching career at Centennial Regional High School, in Greenfield Park, Quebec until retiring in 1996. Throughout this time, Joe toiled to further his education eventually graduating from Concordia University with an MA. While teaching, he served in the Canadian Forces Air Reserves from 1974 to 1987.
He was the loving husband of Carita McCluskey. He will be remembered by his children Patricia (Calvin Gough), Dartmouth, Michael (Angela McCune), Beaconsfield, Wendy, Halifax, Todd (Lisa Paschal), Moncton and stepson Peter Dzuba, Winnipeg. He is also survived and missed by his mother Clara Francis (Geddes), Moncton, sisters Lois Glibbery (Harvey), Dartmouth and Kathryn Norton (Donald), Moncton. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth Mugridge and sister Hannah Titus. Grampie Joe’s stories will be missed by his loving grandchildren (Ethan, Alanna, Maddy, Joshua and Aidan). He also had several nieces and nephews. Everyone will miss the “Joeisms”.
There will be visitation only at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz Street on Monday, December 11th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in celebration of his life may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
