Obituary of Alice Jane MacLeod

Alice grew up in Belleville in a loving home, and had many fond memories of family, beauty, fun and play. As a school girl, she was an avid reader, and skipped two grades to graduate early. When a young woman, Alice joined her father to work at Hydro. There she took great satisfaction in her daily accomplishments and environment. In her spare time, she danced and sang in local musicals. Alice was a talented singer, and a record was made of one of her performances. Alice continued to sing in the church choir for many years. She also served on the Maple Grove Cooperative Board of Directors for twenty-seven years, and was a member of the Braesiders. Alice's faith was quiet and strong. On April 22nd, she carried her faith steadfastly into a quick and peaceful passing. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Valerie MacLeod, son-in-law Joe McGinnis, grand-daughter Zoe McGinnis (Fredericton), son Eric MacLeod (Calgary), sister Marion Child (Idaho, USA), nieces and nephews Cheri, Donna, Kent and Curt and families (USA), cousins Betty Joslin (BC), Ann Vandervoort (BC), and Ruth Thomson (ON). Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by her former husband Don MacLeod, her daughter-in-law Krista Rowe, and cousins Dorothy Airth (ON) and Margaret Sloan (BC). Honouring Alice's wishes, no viewing or visitation will be held at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Visions United, 1270 Gorge Rd., Stilesville, on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Gaw officiating.
