Obituary of Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Millar Britton
Elizabeth M. Britton, 91, of Moncton, passed away at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on Thursday, September 20, 2007. Born in Toronto, On; she was the daughter of the late George and Barbara (Millar) Sweenie.
She attended Water and Wine Assembly of Christians in Moncton. She is a life Member of the W.M.S.; she was an active member in many of her husband Pastoral charges including Allison Baptist, Main Street Baptist, Sackville, NB; Geary Baptist (two terms)Valley Baptist Churches; also pastoral charges in Lachute, PQ and Queensville, ON. She was also a former sunday school teacher and a member of the church choir. Mrs. Britton loved to work and educate young people, from sewing, crafts and ceramics. It was this creativity which she has passed on to her children and grandchildren.
A loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend she will be sadly missed by her three sons David Britton and his wife Marilyn of Riverview; Paul Britton and his wife Sharon of Halifax, NS and John Britton and his wife Sherry of Moncton; nine grandchildren Cheryl, Andrew, Daniel, Christopher, Elizabeth, Timothy, Jeremy, Nicholas and Matthew. Eleven great grandchildren Natasha, Naomi, Sarah, Joshua, Rebekah, Caleb, Nathanael, Nathan, Emily, Riley and Julia.
She was predeceased by her husband Rev. W. Hartley Britton in 1994, also by two sisters Jean and Agnes "Nessie" and by three brothers Frank, George and Jack.
Visitation is at the Riverview Funeral Home Pine Glen Road on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral service will be held from Riverview Funeral Home Chapel, Pine Glen Rd. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 1:30 pm with Pastor David Britton officiating.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Donations to K. E. Spencer Memorial Home "Generator Fund" would be appreciated by her family.
