Obituary of Violet Bessie Mae Wilson

We are saddened to announce the passing of Violet Bessie Mae Wilson, of Riverview at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, December 21, 2007 , at the age of 83 years. The widow of Oscar Wilson, She was born in Nixon Settlement, the daughter of the late Evan and Janice (Mitton) Hopper. She was a former member of Nixon Baptist Church and current member of Riverview Baptist Church. Violet was a member of Riverview Baptist Women's Bible Study group, Merry Makers of Salisbury, and Seniors Group of 21 Crystal Dr. She was also a life member of the United Womens Institute and the Womens Missionary Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning as well as quilting, sewing, knitting, etc. She was an animal lover and always had a pet as a companion. She is survived by her daughters Diane Miller (Kenneth) of Moncton and Faye Russell (Charlie) of Berryton, sons Larry Wilson (Donald Fuller) of Vancouver and Evan Wilson (Leisha) of Berryton, grandchildren Carrie Jones, Aaron Miller (Loretta), Julie Miller, Katelyn Wilson and Grant Wilson; great grandchildren Chaston Jones and Ethan Miller; brother Merle Hopper of River Glade; half sisters Doris Scott (Merritt) of Hanwell and Ruth Phillips (Sandy) of Weldon; and also by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Oscar January of 1992 and by her stepmother Joyce (Fillmore) Hopper December of 2004. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday December 23, 2007 from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 24, 2007 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jonathan Gorham officiating. There will be a reception to follow. Interment will be in Nixon Settlement Cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made to the Nixon Settlement Cemetery Fund or to Memorial of the donor's choice.
