Obituary of Hilbert E. Brown

Hilbert E. Brown, 91, of Royal Court in Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Born in Leroy, NS; on July 26, 1917, he was the son of the late George A. and Annie Elizabeth (Doyle) Brown. Hilbert was a Locomotive Engineer with the CNR retiring after 37 years service, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and was a member of the Citation Indian Trailer Club. He was a longtime member of the Whitepine Baptist Church and a member of the Whitepine Baptist Seniors Group. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters Betty Innes (Aubrey) of Moncton, NB and Georgina Steeves (Reginald) of Moncton, NB; his five grandchildren Kim Hawker (Bryant) of Riverview, Wendy Coates (Rick Head) of Moncton, Cynthia Duncan (David) of Edmonton, AB, Shelley Keith (Brian) of Riverview and Rodney Steeves (Lisa) of Riverview; ten great grandchildren Kolby Murray of Petitcodiac, Kirk Murray of Riverview, Robert, Courtney and Jessicia Duncan of Edmonton, AB, Kathleen, Rebecca and Devin Keith of Riverview and Dakota and Riley Steeves of Riverview; one great-great grand daughter Katelyne St. Pierre of Riverview; one sister Dorothy Griffiths of Surrey, B.C; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Nancy (Clark) Brown, his second wife Faith (Lutes) Brown; sisters Margaret Rushton, Agnes Girvan, Gladys Alderson, and Alice Conrod; brothers Robert "Bob", Jim, Wilfred, Murray and Fred also by a half brother Prescott. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Whitepine Baptist Church 149 Canusa Dr, Riverview on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Frank Trail officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB. In lieu of flowers donations in Hilbert's memory made to Whitepine Baptist Building Fund, 149 Canusa Dr. Riverview, NB E1B 2W6 or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
