Obituary of Marie B. Garland

Marie Garland, at the age 66, of Moncton, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB she is the daughter Marion G. (Pyke) King and the late William J. King. She retired from the CNR Accounting Dept. following 35 years of service. Marie enjoyed Bingo and playing on her computer, her greatest love was her family and caring for others. She loved animals especially her dog "Ginger". Remembered for her loving and caring ways, she leaves behind her daughters Elaine Copp (Gary) of Lower Coverdale, Melody Chappell-Smith (Brian) of Moncton, her husband Gary Kirkbride, grand daughter Megan Copp, her mother Marion King of Riverview; brother-in-laws Earl Casey of Upper Coverdale and Paul Crawford of Barrie, On; sister-in-laws Mae Steeves of Berry Mills and Eileen Locke of Five Islands, NS; her former husband and friend Herman Chappell; her aunt Isabel Armstrong of Hamilton, On; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her sisters Carol Casey and Gloria Crawford and a brother Wayne King. Resting at Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home & Memorial Chapel on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 1:30pm with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, NB. Donations in Marie's memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation "Oncology Dept." would be appreciated.
