Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" M. Wallace

Elizabeth "Betty" Wallace, of Moncton, passed away at Pro Tem Health Services, Moncton, on Friday, April 10, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Lila (Langille) Johnston. She was a member of St. Augustine Parish and a member of St. Augustine's CWL. Betty was a supervisor with NBTEL retiring after 46 years service. A member of NBTEL Pioneers she and her husband Peter enjoy volunteering and travelling the world and visiting Sick Children Hospitals. An avid Lawn Bowler she was a member of the Centennial Lawn Bowling Club and a member of the Braesiders Seniors group. Betty was also taught aerobics and was a Canadian Level Five Fitness Instructor. She will be sadly miss by her loving husband Peter Wallace Sr.; her sons Peter (Gail) Wallace Jr. of Pointe-du- Chene, Colin (Jacinta) Wallace of Moncton, and Steven (Elizabeth) Wallace of Douglastown; her grandchildren Ashley, Lindsay, Emily and Katlin; two sisters Maxine Johnston, and Catherine Breau (Fred) all of Moncton; two brothers Frank (Frances) of Moncton, and Joe (Jan) of Shediac; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a infant daughter Redma Ann Wallace also by two sisters Marion Creaghan RN and Eleanor Phinney. Resting at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, April 12, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm. The Funeral mass will be held from Saint Augustine's Roman Catholic Church corner of Mountain Rd and Dominion St. Moncton on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10:00am with Fr. A. Carroll presiding. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Betty's memory made to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by her family.
