Obituary of William "Bill" Wright

Bill Wright, age 77 years of Riverview, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on February 8, 2010 following a long illness. Born in Moncton, NB; he was the son of the late William and Mayme (Cudmore) Wright. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Fay (Belliveau); two sons, William (Cindy) of Nanaimo, BC, and Michael (Charilyn) of Orangeville, ON; four fantastic grandchildren; Billy and Carey in Nanaimo,BC, Jennalyn and Christiann in Orangeville, ON; sisters Emma Crozier of Saint John, NB and Alvena Howard of Abbotsford, BC. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by sisters Alma Wright, Jean Crozier, Vesta White, Iona Morton, Muriel Crowder; brothers Charles and Clarence Wright. Bill spent much of his life in Ontario; he and Fay were married in Toronto in 1955 and their two sons were born there. Bill was employed with an asphalt paving and road building contractor and after eleven years in the Toronto area was transferred to Thunder Bay, ON for another eleven years. He moved to Maxville, ON, where he became a Home Hardware Dealer/Owner. He was elected to two terms on Village Council and served on the Board of Management of Maxville Manor. He returned to NB in 1989 and was employed with Elmwood Home Hardware until his retirement in 1996. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, council 9270, and was a Charter Member of Council 9780 in Apple Hill, ON. Visitation will be held at The Riverview Funeral Home on Thursday February 11, 2010 from 7:00-9:00pm. There will be parish prayers and sharing of memories from the funeral home at 8:30pm Thursday evening along with a prayer service conducted by the Knights of Columbus. The funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church on Friday February 12, 2010 at 11:00 am with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Dieppe, NB in the spring. In memory of Bill, donations made to The Habitat for Humanity Canada Foundation, would be appreciated to help provide a home and hope for a deserving family.
