Obituary of Robert James Johnston

Robert J. Johnston of Moncton, passed away with his loving family at his side, following a lengthy illness at the Moncton Hospital, on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, moments before his 74th birthday. Born in Moncton on September 21, 1937 he was the son of the late Robert Herbert and Marjorie (Chapman) Johnston. A true artist, he dedicated his entire life to his sign business. He loved hockey especially the Boston Bruins. He had a passion for cars and watching car racing. There was a special place in his heart for the family pet Sparkle. During the last few years he was faced with bad health and was forced to slow down which gave him the time to smell the roses, maybe for the first time in his busy life. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years Marilyn (Niles) Johnston; sons Daniel (Joann), Michael, Timothy, and Patrick (Lisa); daughter Kelly Ann (Tony); grandchildren Lindsey Beth, Shelby Grace (Jesse), Sadie Miranda, and Taylor; great grandson Ayden; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Lloyd, Leonard, Lorne and his sister Jean. In honoring his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no public services held.
