Obituary of Dora Elizabeth Fogarty

Dora Elizabeth (Hayward) Fogarty, wife of the late E.J. (Bud) Fogarty of Monarch Hall, Riverview, NB; formerly of Edgehill Dr. Moncton, NB; passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011. Born in St. Albans, Maine; on April 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Alexander C. Hayward, Farmington, New Hampshire, USA, and Isabelle B. (Lawson) Hayward, New York, USA. She was the grand daughter of the late Clarence E. and Lillian M. (Green) Hayward, Hartland, NB with whom she spent her childhood. Betty was a graduate of Hartland High School, Success Business College, Moncton, and was a twenty-five year employee with the Canadian National Railways in Moncton. She was a member of Air Canada Pioneers, the Gyrette Club of Moncton, a life member of the Dr. John Clarence Webster Chapter I.O.D.E., a founding member of the Women's Probus Club of South East New Brunswick and a long-time supporter of the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation. She is survived by her brother Alton W. (Isabel) Hayward of Freedom, New Hampshire; two nieces Janet J. (Robert) Taylor of Fort St. John, BC. and Martha E. Turner of Kingston, ON. She was also loved and will be remembered by Patricia (Robert) Green of Brampton, ON. and her children Ruth (John) Matthews and David (Carly) Chisholm. Besides her husband, parents and paternal grandparents, she was predeceased by her sisters Margaret I. Aiton and her husband Donald, Lillian M. Turner and her husband Mark; her niece Karen L. Aiton, her nephew D. Hayward Aiton and her maternal grandparents John R. and Jessie (Hackett) Lawson of Manchester, England. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Bernard's Church, 43 Botsford St. Moncton on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 9:30 am with Father Allison Carroll officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hartland, NB.
