Obituary of Elizabeth Bennett Hunter
Elizabeth Hunter, 79 years, of Moncton, passed away early Saturday morning at the Moncton Hospital as a result of complications from surgery. Born in Moncton in 1932 to Walter and Olive Hunter (Mayer), Betty was an active member of her community and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by extensive family and friends, including her brothers Bill (Venie) and Tom (Ann), and her sister Pam (Gerry) Lewis, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters Shirley Campbell and Joan Hunter. After more than 40 years of service and retiring as a Purchasing Agent with Moncton’s Canadian National Railway, Betty continued to serve her community through her involvement with Saint James Anglican Church and the Karing Kitchen. When she wasn’t giving back to her community, Betty loved spending time at her cottage at Cassie Cape and bowling with the CN Mixed Bowling League, a league she was part of for 60 years. Visitation will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Moncton on Monday April 30, 2012 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday May 1, 2012 at 2:00pm with Rev. Roderick Black officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In honour of Betty’s life of service, donations to Saint James Anglican Church, the Karing Kitchen, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 171 Lutz St. Moncton (506) 857-8564. Online condolences can be made at www.tuttlefuneralhome.caService Information
