Obituary of Robert Allen Fahey
Robert Allen Fahey, beloved husband of Delphine (Vautour) Fahey, passed away peacefully at home on Friday afternoon, May 11, 2012, the eve of his and Delphine's 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Born on December 2, 1939, in Bass River Point, Kent County, NB, Robert was the son of Eugene and Marguerite (Durant) Fahey.
After working over a decade in Toronto, Robert and Delphine settled in Moncton, where Robert established several businesses, which he continued to operate for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Robert enjoyed travel with Delphine and he savoured time spent in his sunroom over looking the garden, reading newspapers and countless books, all of which were passed along to others.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sister, Elinore Isbister (late Bob) of Québec City, Québec, and Naples, Florida; sisters-in-law Elsie (Bob) Griffin of London, Ontario, and Irene (Arthur) Gallant of Kingston, Ontario; brother-in-law Aurelle (Linda) Vautour of Dieppe, NB; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, his sister Evelyn White (late Jim), and his stepmother, Elverna (Cail) Fahey.
Robert's undiminished strength, dignity, warmth, humour, and love will remain with those of us left behind.
Honoring Robert's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
If so desired, donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
