Obituary of Robert Irven Powers

Robert Irven Powers, formerly of Moncton passed away at the Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in Riverview on Monday October 8, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Born on the Old Fredericton Rd. on February 3, 1924 he was the son of the late George L. and Mary Elizabeth (Kierstead) Powers. Robert retired after 50 plus years with the Canadian National Railway. He is survived by two daughters Phyllis Estabrooks (Brady Jones) of Sackville, Faye Lang of Moncton; five grandchildren Rachel (Ben Rideout), Robert, Margaret "Maggie", Patrick and Robin; great grandchildren Ian and Simon Rideout; two sisters Myrtle Doyle (William) of Moncton, Mary Elizabeth Gaudet of Shediac; one brother Ross (Betty) of Riverview; also by nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Aurise (LeBlanc) Powers; brothers Jesse, Lloyd and Manning Powers. Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home 171 Lutz St. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Highfield Street Baptist Church on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:00pm with Rev. Daniel Cormier officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Donation's in Robert's memory made to the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
