Obituary of Elizabeth A. Armour

Elizabeth A. Armour, of Riverview, NB; Born in Saint John, NB; Elizabeth was the only child of the late James and Hazel (Kaye) Moore.She was a former member of Wesley Memorial United Church and the Wesley Choir and member of St. John's United Church and Choir. Elizabeth had a very strong love for music, especially voice, she was a Mezzo Soprano. She was schooled at Victoria School in Saint John and Hampton Consolidated in Hampton, NB, she would later go on to Mount Allison University where she received her Associate in Music, Majoring in Voice. This led to a long career in voice and music, from teaching voice at home, directing youth choirs in the greater Moncton area and serving as President on many boards, associations and committees, to name a few are the New Brunswick and Atlantic Symphonies, life member of the Moncton Music Teachers Association, Committee of Adjudicators for the Moncton Music Festivals, Beta Sigma Phi, as well as the UCW. Elizabeth also received the Merit of Moncton and a Moncton 100 Certificate. She will sadly missed by her children Jeffrey (Pauline) of Burlington, ON, and Steven (Jeannie) of Riverview and Tim (Lori) Armour of Toronto; grand-daughters Marlee and Hayley Armour of Burlington, ON; she also leaves to mourn sister in laws E. Joyce Sherwood (George) of Kelowna, BC and Hedy Armour (the late Charles A.) of Halifax, NS. as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years Fred S. Armour in 2003. Beta Sigma Phi service to be held at St. John's United Church, Victoria and Alma Streets, Moncton on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 1:30pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John's United Church, Victoria and Alma Streets, Moncton on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dr. Douglas MacEachern Minster of Emeritus officiating. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB. Donations in Elizabeth 's memory made to Lupus NB or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
