Obituary of Marion Elizabeth Barton

 It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Marion Elizabeth Barton (100), formerly of West St. Moncton, and widow of the late Raymond (Buzz) Barton, on Tuesday, December 24, at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born in Trenton, NS. she was the daughter of the late Robert and May (Chantley) Fraser.Marion was employed with NB Telephone, the Hospital Annex and volunteered with Saint John Ambulance. She was a member of Central United Church in Moncton. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Russell) Silliker of Upper Cape, Karen (the late Gerald) Dryden of Grand Digue, Rae Acker of Upper Cape; one son Bob (Pauline) Barton of Moncton.; one sister-in-law Betty Fraser ( New Glascow, NS); eight grand children, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.   She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband Buzz, she was predeceased by her four brothers, Henry, David, Alva and Seely Fraser; two grand children, Ronald Dryden and Timothy Barkley. By personal request there will be no visitation held at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz Street on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00pm with Rev. Jim MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Donations in Marion's memory may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, Moncton Firefighters Burn Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
