Obituary of W. Bevis Dealy

Bevis Dealy, formerly of Buckingham Avenue in Riverview, passed away at the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Born in Atholville, NB he was the son of the late Warren and Opal (MacDonald) Dealy. In earlier years, Bev was known for his passion for trains and horses. He retired after many enjoyable years as a Conductor with the Canadian National Railway, the railway was a very important part of his life. He will be remembered for his tremendous sense of humour. At the age of 47 years, Bev suffered a stroke and was considered a Medical Marvel by many Dr's as there was little hope for the recovery. However, together with his wife’s assistance he not only overcame many of his challenges they created a support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Left with fond memories are his daughters Debbie and her husband Nigel Bayliss of Riverview, and Donna Dealy and her husband Marty Cudmore of Harcourt; sisters Doris and her husband Lloyd of Dalhousie Junction, Joyce and her husband Norman of Moncton; Brother William Dealy of Moncton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Doris (Brooks) in 2003; sisters Faye and Phyllis. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Lakeview Manor for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home on Friday March 14, 2014 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 4:00 pm with Rev. Steve Berube officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery.
