Obituary of Elizabeth Steeves
Elizabeth Steeves, 93, of Moncton, NB; passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital, on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014.
Born in Hamilton, Scotland, Elizabeth came to Canada in 1945. She was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Meikle) Lang. She was a member of the Parkside Baptist Church and of the Canadian War Brides Association.
She is survived by daughters Catherine Hallihan (Cyril) of Boundary Creek, Gloria Briggs (Daniel) of Moncton, Patricia Charlton (Robert) of Charlottetown, Kimberly Steeves of Moncton; sons Raymond Steeves, William Steeves (Deanna), Phillip Steeves (Linda) all of Moncton; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Elizabeth is predeceased by husband Perley V. Steeves, who she met in Scotland during the war. She worked in a munitions factory and he was a soldier. She is also predeceased by brothers David, John and William Lang.
Family will be receiving visitors at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home from 1:00pm until time of service.
A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz Street on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Daniel Cormier officiating.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth's memory made to the SPCA, would be appreciated by the family.
