Obituary of Marie "Mabel" Moore

Marie "Mabel" (May) Moore (Aube) was born to Leah and Leo W. Aube in Bathurst, New Brunswick on September 28th, 1931. She entered into heaven peacefully, and with dignity on September 12th, 2014. A loving mother and homemaker, words that best describe Mabel or "Lil Nan" are amazing, kind, gentle, practical, witty and straight shooter. In her youth, she was an avid golfer, curler and sports enthusiast. She loved reading her paper from tip to tail, watching "her shows", and would regularly beat most contestants on Jeopardy. Most important to her were her buddies, Bear, her treats (Lunchables & candies) and the odd glass of wine. From those cheeks, you never knew what Mabel was going to say but you were always glad she said it. Mabel had an unwavering faith in God and a special devotion to Mary, our Mother. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Georgetown Ontario and only until recently was always in attendance with her family for Eucharist. Mabel was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Laurance B. Moore. She was also predeceased by her brother, Donald Aube and infant brother Carl William. Mabel is survived by her son Kenneth Moore and his wife Wendy of Riverview NB, her son Shawn of Moncton NB, her son Peter and his wife Jennifer of Windsor NS, her son David and his wife Tammy of Riverview NB, and her daughter Lori (Gallant) and her husband Jeff of Georgetown ON, three sisters of Bathurst New Brunswick, Bella, Carmel and Jeannine. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild. There will be a Funeral Service for Mabel on Dec.22, 2014 2pm at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home Chapel with Father Phil Mulligan officiating. Interment will be in Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
