Obituary of Marion Elizabeth Marshall
Marion Marshall (Dobson) of Salisbury Road, Moncton, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday morning, January 10, 2015 at the age of 94 years with loving family at her side. Born in Monteagle, Westmorland Co. on June 13, 1920, she was the daughter of Burton and Hazel (Lewis) Dobson. She spent her entire life as the best possible homemaker there could be. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, reading, bowling, needlepointing, chauffeuring, camping and spending time at the cottage with her husband, family, friends and the family dog. She was a member of uplands United Baptist Church and past member of Salisbury Women's Bowling League and Salisbury Merry Makers. A wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be sadly missed, with wonderful memories, by her daughter, Brenda Marshall of Moncton; two sons, Allen and his wife Jean of Riverview and Randy of Moncton; four grandchildren, Stephen Marshall of Riverview, Bonnie Kent (Greg) of Ottawa, Karen Marshall of Fredericton and Shelley Rankin (Jeff) of Fredericton; seven great grandchildren, Adam and Colin Marshall, Kelly, Robyn and Ryan Kent, Keagan and Mary Jean Rankin, also by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Robert Marshall (2000), her daughter, June Hicks (1980), son Gerald Marshall (2014); two brothers, Raymond Dobson and Lloyd Dobson and two sisters Ruth Steeves and Helen Colborne. Visitation will take place at Tuttle Brothers and Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview on Wednesday, January 14 from 1-2 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday following visitation at 2 pm, Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Donations in memory of Marion may be made to the Extra Mural Program - NB or a charity of the donor's choice.
