Obituary of Alan C. Alderson

Alan C. Alderson, 68 , of Moncton, NB passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital, on Thursday, March 08, 2018. Born in Moncton, a son of the late Russell and Catherine (Beddow) Alderson. Alan was a loving father and grandfather, who doted on his four girls and grandchildren. He was a consummate fisherman with all the gear to prove it. He loved to cook for his family and to keep his mind engaged with games. Alan was fiercely competitive and loved to laugh, particularly at his own jokes. He could be an intimidating presence but those closest to him knew how soft and loving he was. There is no denying how much his family meant to him. Survived by four daughters: Jessica (Kevin LeBlanc) of Moncton, Jennifer (Steven Gateley) of Victoria BC, Carrie (Mike Porter) of Moncton and Stacy (Colin McGilton) of Montreal; sisters, Colleen Alderson of Saint John and Gina (Richard Gill) of Ottawa; and, eight grandchildren, Melia, Rory, Blair, Lukas, Mackenzie, Tarrin, Catherine and Kyle as well as two great- grandchildren; niece and nephews. In addition to his parents, Alan was predeceased by one sister, Celeste and one brother, Russell (Butch).
