Obituary of Rodney Urban Carpenter
Rodney (Rod) U Carpenter, 71 passed away on August 12, 2016, at the Moncton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick on August 1, 1945 he was the son of the late Erne and Margaret Carpenter formerly of Moncton and Chipman, NB. He worked in Moncton for many years with the Moncton Times and Transcript and in Prince Edward Island for the Guardian in Charlottetown as a typesetter. Rodney was predeceased by his wife Annette Marie Carpenter and brother Gary L. Carpenter. Rodney is survived by his sister Sandra Wilson and brother Ernest (Carpy) Carpenter both of Dartmouth, NS. He is also survived by members of Annette Maries’ extended family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tuttles Funeral Home, Riverview, NB where cremation has taken place. In accordance with Rod’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. A warm thank you to friends David and Wanda Stiles and Mr and Mrs Bob LeBlanc for being the best of neighbours. Special thanks as well to all the caring staff at the Moncton Hospital – your efforts created a very warm and caring atmosphere and brought dignity to the final chapter of his life.
