Obituary of Gilbert Bowness

Gilbert Bowness passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital at the age of 96. Born in the British Isles, in 1920, he was the son of the late Samuel and Esther (Park) Bowness. He was the last surviving member of his family of two brothers and two sisters. Gilbert spent 4 years and 6 months in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Petty Officer and saw service on Russian Convoy's and also landings in Normandy D. Day and later patrolled the channel and surrounding areas until his end of duty. He was preceded by his wife Lorette (Belliveau). He will be sadly missed by his Mayflower, her children, spouses, friends and also his morning friends with whom he had coffee at Mcdonald's.
