Obituary of Keith Brian Wheaton
Keith Brian Wheaton passed away suddenly surrounded by friends and family on Friday, July 14, 2017.
Keith was born on August 9, 1944 at a nursing home in Point De Bute into a Christian home. His mother Freda Steeves Wheaton and father Woodrow Keith Wheaton.
Keith had a profound sense of his large extended family and duty to make the world a better place. His summers were spent with his grandmother, grandfather, aunts and cousins from Edgett's Landing. Also time was made for his father's family in Wheaton Settlement.
He graduated from the Technical Course Moncton High 1963, then completed Electrical Technology De Vry Institute 1966 of Toronto, On.
Keith married his one true love Aug 10, 1968 with a promise to tease her forever. They had an exceptional time together and were blessed with three beautiful girls. Kimberley Betty, Nancy Ruth, and Maryanne Catherine.
He delighted in his grandchildren, Kolby, Dryden, Tianna (Kim) and Kamryn (Maryanne). He is also survived by his sister Carolyn and his wonderful sons in law Rob Fuerst and Dale MacDonald. Keith worked in the environmental field before it was fashionable with the Ontario Water Resources Commission. This turned into Ministry of the Environment travelling all over the province of Ontario. He felt a huge amount of accomplishment in his work even when he came home on occasion with singed hair and eyebrows. He had exceptional knowledge of the complicated problems and collaborated on a test book to help everyone.
He was initially curious with how things work. The ultimate handy man he and a friend constructed a 1400 square foot addition to his home in Toronto- Plumbing, Electrical, Drywall he did it all.
He loved to cook and while he was "on the road" he knit sweaters and made hooked rugs. Loving all kinds of music he took lessons on the bagpipe.
Keith always had a sense of fun and he would dress up in costume at the slight whiff of an event.
He was a member of the Centennial Lawn Bowlers serving as treasurer for over 12 years. He was chosen several times to represent NB at the Atlantic Bowls Tournament.
He could see the working of the Lord in his life and was kind and gentle to all. He had the gift of serving and if anyone needed him, he was there.
