Obituary of Carrie Elizabeth "Betty" Chase

　 Chase, Carrie Elizabeth "Betty", 92 , of Truro, N.S. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother on Friday, November 3, 2017. Betty was born in Bay Bulls Arm (Sunnyside) NL, the daughter of James and Sarah Jane Hutchings. Betty left Newfoundland in 1943 to join the Royal Canadian Navy. Upon being discharged at the end of the war, she moved to Kentville where she met her future husband Harry. They settled happily in Truro to raise their family. She was loved by many and made friends wherever she went. Betty will be sadly missed by her daughter Debbie (Gordie) Crowell and Shelley (Cal) Buechler, grandchildren Matthew (Shawna), Jon (Lisa), Jennifer (Corey), Zoe and Seth, great-grandsons Jamie and Nathan and many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband Harry, beloved daughter Linda and sisters Winnie, Gladys and Judy. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date on a beautiful sunny day.
