Obituary of Robert Edward Bernard

Robert Edward Bernard of Moncton, N.B. passed away in hospital on May 22nd, 2018 at the age of 78. Robert(Bobby) was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I on March 4th, 1940, the fourth of ten children. Robert is a descendant of Samuel Bernard and was from a long line of Loyalists. Robert worked as a grain handler in Saint John. N.B. until his retirement. In his free time Robert enjoyed bowling and playing darts. Robert is survived by his son Mark Bernard, his daughter-in-law Sharon and grandchildren Joshua, Sara, Katrina and Liam Gilbert-Bernard of Ontario. His daughter Elizabeth Bernard and grandchildren Victoria and Phillip. He is also survived by his sisters: Lottie, Dorothy, Pearl, Shirley and Marlene and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sister Marge, brothers Victor and Stirling and ‘baby’ Bernard. A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers & Riverview Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 18th 2018 at 11:00AM. Interment will take place at Geddie Memorial Cemetery, Springbrook, PE. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saint John, New Brunswick who offer support and research for dementia patients and to the I.W.K hospital in Nova Scotia in Robert’s honour would be greatly appreciated.
