Dear George, Children and Elizabeth, Very sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Trusting you find comfort in your many memories of sailing trips, law stories and more. I did not know your father well, though I remember both your parents fondly from our times at the Cape.

My husband, children and I send our condolences to George L., his children and Elizabeth. George joined my family when he married my mother in 1997. During the almost twenty years they were married; he brought her joy, sailing and opera - for which we are forever grateful. Our lives were enriched by Georges partnership with Mom, our visits to his beloved Shediac and later Moncton, and by the legal and local stories he loved to share with us. I am sure Georges considerable musical talents will be appreciated in the celestial choir. Rest in peace Gorgeous George, Papa George.

Hi Elizabeth. My sincere condolences on losing your Dad. I don\'t know if you knew but my mom passed too, on Jan 30. Your Dad became part of Mum\'s "family" at Canterbury and Monarch and especially during the pandemic when they were denied contact with their own families They enjoyed teasing each other and of late, if they passed each other in the hallway (both in their wheelchairs) they would reach out and touch hands. I enjoyed meeting you and our little chats when we met in their residences. Take care and remember the good times with your Dad. Debbie MacDonald (daughter of Carol Hall)

My deepest condolences to the entire Cooper family. I remember Mr Cooper very fondly. He was a gentleman, first and foremost. His wisdom and integrity shone through in everything he did. Aside from his accomplished legal career, perhaps his greatest legacy is his wonderful family, of whom he was so deservedly proud.

Mr. Cooper was one of the most well-respected people I’ve had the privilege of knowing. I only got to know him later in life, but I always took the time to chat with him and listen to what he had to say. I remember he used to bring me his caselaw on a weekly basis to study and have a discussion. Thinking of George L. and family at this time. Thoughts and prayers to his family. May he Rest in Peace.

Elizabeth and family: When I walked down the slips between the boats and heard the children laughing as they hauled in mackerel from Shediac Bay while the sun was setting on an uncharacteristically warm early fall day, I knew dad would have a lot of stories to tell about "sailing with George"... when I arrived back in Saint John and shared the videos and pictures with mum and dad. Dad had a lot of smiles and chuckles as he did. He was wondering how your dad was doing. He shared very complimentary remarks about working with George but neither giving up their respective New Brunswick city loyalties to set up a legal partnership in the other's home city. Dad was rarely early to arrive for racing but on January 4, 2022 he slipped away from us just after lunch. The sunset over the Maritimes that evening and the sunrise the next morning were each the most remarkable I have ever witnessed. Now I have a lovely image of George and Harry sailing out of Shediac Bay together again for a summer evening race. Thank goodness George was the better sailor and thank heavens Harry was a good sport for each adventure. Hugs Elizabeth. Keep sailing and keep the good memories of fine lawyers who both helped countless New Brunswickers have better experiences in this one adventure; life.
