Obituary of Robert "Bob" Benedict Lawlor
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Robert "Bob" Benedict Lawlor, of Moncton, New Brunswick. Bob passed away peacefully in the presence of his family at The Moncton Hospital, on Friday, September 16, 2022.
Born in Bell Island, Newfoundland, Bob was the son of the late Robert Francis Lawlor and Elsie (Squires) Lawlor. He proudly served with the Canadian Guards before beginning his career; spanning over 40 years as a transport truck driver. Bob had a never-ending love for his family and music; specifically Elvis Presley. His dedication to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, Ford trucks and his love of Duct Tape was nothing short of admirable.
He is survived by his wife Josie Selina (Bemister) Lawlor of 63 years; sons, Rick (Pauline) of Moncton, Bobby (Pam) of Moncton, and Wally (Jennifer) of Moncton; daughters, Rose Coster (Stephen) of Ontario and Mary LeBlanc (Bob) of Moncton; sister Mary Squires of Lakeville; 17 grandchildren, Ricky, Jason, Melissa, Robert, Liam, Jesse, Christopher, Brianna, Chase, Amanda, Bridget, Stephanie, Natasha, Stephen, Michael, Cory, and Crystal; and 21 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, Bob was predeceased by his son David; sister Rose; brothers, Leo, Richard, and baby Lawlor.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Road, Riverview. Family, friends and those whose lives Bob touched are welcome to attend. Father Angus Johnston officiating. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
A contribution in Robert's memory to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
