Obituary of Barbara A. Jones
Barbara Arvilla Jones of Riverview, widow of Willard T. Jones, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, December 18, 2008. Born September 27, 1930 in Sackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hilyard and Norma (Campbell) Crossman. She was formerly employed with Mandem Company for 14 years and a former employee of the T. Eaton Co.
Barbara was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church and a member of the Riverview Baptist "Goldenaires" Senior Group. She was also a life member of the Atlantic Baptist Women's Group (Riverview Baptist) and a member of the Neighborhood Bible Study.
Barbara appreciated her home and any opportunity to extend a warm welcome to family and friends. Her life centered around her faith and family, and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Left with fond memories are her sons Commander Robert "Bob" Jones and his wife Martha of Dartmouth, NS; Rev Greg Jones and his wife Wendy of Quispamsis, NB; six grandchildren Andrew, Mark (Anna), Victoria (Paul), Laura (Dan), Amy and Molly; three sisters Gertrude Green of Riverview, Leona Smith (Hubert) of Moncton and Gladys MacKinnon of Sackville; two brothers Rouel Crossman (Pearl) of Riverview and David Crossman (Marion) of Sackville,: a sister-in-law Gwen Crossman of Sackville and a brother-in-law Kier Procter of Moncton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Willard T. Jones in January 2008, a brother Hilyard Crossman and by two sisters Mary Lou Procter and Judith Chambers.
Resting at Riverview Funeral Home, Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, with visitation on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
The Funeral Service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jonathan Gorham and Rev. Greg Jones officiating.
Interment will be in Sackville Cemetery, Sackville, NB in the spring.
Donations in Barbara's memory can be made to the Cancer Society, Riverview Baptist Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of the donors choice.
