Obituary of Beatrice Hanington

Beatrice Carol Hanington, age 75 years of Shediac Cape, passed away at The Moncton Hospital after a battle with cancer on Monday, June 21, 2010. Born in Moncton, NB on October 22nd, 1934; she was the only child of the late Roy and Florence Bateman. Bea was a member of St. Martin's in the Woods Anglican Church and taught Sunday school there for 35 years. She enjoyed helping with the rural mail delivery in her area for 40 years. Bea thoroughly enjoyed and loved all kinds of dancing; square dancing (Hoban's Hero's), clogging (Mud River Cloggers), round dancing (Charlie's Angels), line dancing and ballroom dancing. Forever missed by her loving husband of 52 years William "Bill" Hanington and her cherished pet dog Lacey; brother in law Allen (Willa) Hanington of Shediac Cape, NB; sisters in law Ethel Jones (Donald) of Shediac Cape, NB, Margaret Harvey of Hamilton, ON, Mary Rimmer of Don Mills, ON, Florence Hicks (Hugh) of Middle Sackville, NB, Muriel Jones of Hamilton, Bermuda, Edith Hanington of Halifax, NS, Lillian Hamilton of Shediac Cape, NB; also by many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends. Predeceased by her sister in law Doris Wood; brothers in law William Wood, John Harvey, Ralph Rimmer, Ronald Jones and Robert Hamilton. A special Thank You to all the doctors and nurses on 3600 (Moncton Hospital Palliative Care Unit) for the all the love and care they showed Bea during her stay. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home (171 Lutz St. Moncton) on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Martins in the Woods Anglican Church on Thursday, June 24th, 2010 at 2:30pm with Ven. Richard McConnell officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Martin's in the Woods Church cemetery. In memory of Bea, donations made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by her family.
